Imbed Bio Lidocaine Wound Dressing Cleared

FDA has cleared an Imbed Biosciences 510(k) for its Microlyte Ag/Lidocaine, an antimicrobial wound dressing that integrates lidocaine for managing painful skin wounds. The company says the device uses its patented synthetic matrix to deliver ionic and metallic silver along with lidocaine, “providing both antimicrobial protection and local anesthetic effects.” The dressing releases 40mg of lidocaine hydrochloride USP per 100cm² of wound surface area.

The device is indicated for managing various partial- and full-thickness wounds under the supervision of a healthcare professional, including venous stasis ulcers, pressure sores, ischemic ulcers, partial thickness burns, donor site wounds, surgical wounds, post-surgical incisions, abrasions and lacerations, according to Imbed Bio.
