Immunogenicity Testing for Protein Products Guide

Federal Register notice: FDA has posted a guidance on Immunogenicity Testing of Therapeutic Protein Products — Developing and Validating Assays for Anti-Drug Antibody Detection that provides recommendations to facilitate industry development and validation of assays for assessing the immunogenicity of such products during clinical trials. The document includes guidance on the development and validation of screening assays, confirmatory assays, titration assays, and neutralization assays. For purposes of the guidance, the agency says, immunogenicity is defined as the propensity of a therapeutic protein product to generate immune responses to itself and to related proteins or to induce immunologically related adverse clinical events.
