# Immuron Seeking Approval of Travelers’ Diarrhea Prevention

Immuron says it is planning to develop and seek FDA approval for IMM-124E, its bovine polyclonal antibody drug candidate for preventing travelers’ diarrhea (TD). The product under the brand Travelan is approved for this indication in Australia, and it is marketed in the U.S. and Canada as a dietary supplement, and natural health product, respectively, for digestive tract protection, the company says.

IMM-124E is described by the company as a first-in class, oral polyclonal antibody therapy developed to target the endotoxin lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and other pathogenic bacterial components in the human gastrointestinal tract reducing LPS-related inflammation and systemic translocation. Immuron forecasts IMM-124E’s potential peak annual sales at over $100 million annually as an FDA approved drug to prevent TD.
