# Injunction Sought Against Supplement Company Over CGMPs

The Justice Department has filed a complaint in a New York federal court seeking a permanent injunction against Confidence USA, Port Washington, NY, and its president and manager, to prevent them from marketing dietary supplements without following current good manufacturing practices. A department [news release](https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/department-justice-files-complaint-against-new-york-company-stop-distribution-adulterated?ref=fdaweb.com) says FDA inspections repeatedly showed that the company and its executives failed to verify the identity of each dietary ingredient used in the manufacture of their supplements and also failed to verify that their products met specifications for purity, strength, composition, and contamination limits.

The department says the defendants make and distribute more than 50 dietary supplements under several brand names. It says U.S. marshals previously seized certain Confidence USA products in connection with a 2012 complaint alleging that the products were adulterated.
