Issues in 3 Trials Conducted by Detroit Doctor

An FDA 8/5-8/23/2024 Bioresearch Monitoring inspection at the clinical site maintained by Dr. Shirish Gadgeel, a lung cancer medical oncologist, in Detroit, MI, found violations in the conduct of three clinical investigations. A 9/4 Warning Letter says the specific violations were:

failure to ensure that the investigation was conducted according to the investigational plan; and
failure to obtain informed consent in accordance with regulations.

The letter says that while FDA acknowledges the corrective and preventive actions the site has taken, Gadgeel’s response to the inspection observations is inadequate because he did not include sufficient details about his corrective action plan.

Gadgeel was told to respond with a list of actions he has taken to prevent similar violations in the future.
