Latest FDA Warning Letters

FDA has posted its latest batch of Warning Letters. They can be accessed by clicking on the link following each letter.

Ficosota, Shumen, Bulgaria (2/28): FDA inspected the company 9/2019 and cited significant GMP violations for finished pharmaceuticals. For example, Ficosota failed to have an appropriate laboratory determination of satisfactory conformance to final specifications for each drug product, including the identity and strength of each active ingredient, prior to release. The firm also failed to conduct at least one test to verify the identity of each drug component. Additionally, the firm’s quality control unit failed to exercise its responsibility to ensure drug products manufactured are in compliance with GMPs. To view the letter, click here.

Pfizer Healthcare India, Andhra, Pradesh, India (3/25): FDA inspected the company 9/2019 and found significant GMP violations for finished pharmaceuticals. For example, the firm failed to thoroughly investigate any unexplained discrepancy or failure of a batch or any of its components to meet any of its specifications, whether or not the batch had already been distributed. FDA also says the company’s quality system does not adequately ensure the accuracy and integrity of data to support the safety, effectiveness, and quality of the drugs it manufactures. Trilogy Laboratories, Fort Myers, FL (3/5): FDA inspected the company 8/2019 and cited significant GMP violations for finished pharmaceuticals. For example, Trilogy failed to perform, for each batch of a drug product, an appropriate laboratory determination of satisfactory conformance to the final specifications for the drug product. It also failed to conduct at least one test to verify the identity of each component of a drug product and failing to validate and establish the reliability of the component supplier’s test analyses at appropriate intervals.
