Deva Holding, Istanbul, Turkey (8/6): FDA inspected the firm in February and cited significant GMP violations for finished pharmaceuticals. For example, the company failed to perform operations related to the manufacture, processing, and packing of penicillin in facilities separate from those used for other drug products. Deva also failed to test non-penicillin drug products for the presence of penicillin when a reasonable possibility existed that the non-penicillin drug product had been exposed to cross-contamination with penicillin. Polymer Technology Systems, Indianapolis, IN (7/31): FDA inspected the in vitro diagnostic medical devices maker in February and cited significant GMP violations. For example, the company failed to develop, conduct, control, and monitor production processes to ensure that a device conforms to its specifications. TG United, Brooksville, FL (8/1): FDA inspected the firm in February and cited GMP violations for finished pharmaceuticals. For example, the firm failed to thoroughly investigate any unexplained discrepancy or failure of a batch or any of its components to meet any of its specifications. The company also failed to use equipment in the manufacture, processing, packing, or holding of drug products that is of appropriate design, adequate size, and suitably located to facilitate operations for its intended use and for its cleaning and maintenance.
