Lawyer Says Not Enough FDA Digital Health Standards

Attorney Bradley Thompson (Epstein Becker Green) says his review of the FDA consensus standards database indicates that CDRH “is not yet investing enough time and energy in recognizing standards to support digital health and the adoption of artificial intelligence.” Writing online in Health Law Advisor, Thompson also says he is surprised that apparently some radiology and orthopedic standards still in use are more than 20 years old. “I’m surprised they haven’t been updated,” he writes, “but that also suggests that maybe some technology areas simply haven’t evolved much.”
