FDA has cleared a LiveMetric 510(k) for its LiveOne, a wrist-worn nano-sensor technology for monitoring blood pressure every 10 seconds to improve the care and treatment of people with hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. The device requires no external calibration and continuously extracts the pressure waveform out of the radial artery, according to the company. It uses an array of high-frequency nano sensors that senses and processes actual pressure, which is processed through the company’s proprietary machine-learning to extract blood pressure values from the shape of the pulse waveform, LiveMetric says.
