Man Indicted for Illegal Animal Drug

The Justice Department says that a Puerto Rico federal grand jury has returned an indictment against Rubén Vázquez-Diaz, charging him with three counts each of introducing misbranded animal drugs, introducing adulterated animal drugs, mail fraud, and wire fraud, and one count of being a drug user in possession of a weapon and ammunition.

The indictment says that Vázquez-Diaz introduced into interstate commerce Blue Magic Formula, an animal drug that was misbranded and adulterated in that its labeling was false and misleading in stating that it contained FDA approved ingredients, and also was unsafe. The indictment says he sent shipments of the drug to Louisiana and Florida in 2016 and 2017.
