Many eCTD Files Due 5/5

FDA is reminding drug sponsors that although the compliance date for submitting Type 3 master drug files in electronic common technical document (eTCD) format has been extended one year to 5/5/19, other eCTD deadlines remain unchanged and drug master files other than Type 3 and commercial INDs are to be submitted in the eCTD format by 5/5. “Files not submitted in eCTD after 5/5 will be rejected,” a notice says. It says the requirement to submit drug master files in the eCTD format is part of the agency’s overall effort to more efficiently review drug applications since eCTD standardizes how industry submits applications, amendments, supplements, and reports.
