Medical Device Consensus Standards Database Updated

FDA says it has updated the CDRH Recognized Consensus Standards database. An agency notice says the so-called List 59 update includes new standards and new versions of recognized standards plus revisions to some standards’ extent of recognition and an extension of the transition period for two standards.

FDA says a Federal Register notice with modifications to the listing of recognized consensus standards for List 59 will be published early this year. However, manufacturers may now cite the new and revised standards in device submissions.
