# Merck Seeks to Expand Dificid Labeled Use

FDA has accepted for priority review a Merck NDA for Dificid (fidaxomicin) for oral suspension, and a supplemental NDA for a new indication for Dificid tablets and oral suspension for treating *Clostridium* (also known as *Clostridioides*) *difficile* infections in children aged six months or older. The macrolide antibacterial is currently indicated in adults for treating *Clostridium difficile*\-associated diarrhea. Both applications have received a priority review classification by the FDA. The user fee review action target date for both submissions is 1/24/2020.
