# Meridian Bio EUA for Covid Assay

FDA has granted Meridian Bioscience an emergency use authorization for its Revogene SARS-CoV-2 assay, a molecular diagnostic test for the qualitative detection of the Covid-19 virus. The company says the test can return a positive result as soon as 47 minutes using nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal, anterior nasal, and mid-turbinate nasal swab specimens. It has both positive and negative predictive agreements of 97.7%, it says.
