Moderna/Merck Cancer Vaccine Meets Endpoint

Moderna and Merck say their mRNA-4157/V940 investigational personalized mRNA cancer vaccine in combination with Keytruda (pembrolizumab) met its primary endpoint in the Phase 2b KEYNOTE-942 trial. A joint announcement says the vaccination demonstrated a significant and clinically meaningful reduction in the risk of disease recurrence or death compared to Keytruda monotherapy in stage III/IV melanoma patients with a high risk of recurrence following complete resection.

The companies say they will discuss the results with regulatory authorities and will initiate a Phase 3 study in melanoma in 2023 and rapidly expand to additional tumor types.
