# Moderna, Pfizer Bivalent Vaccine EUAs Amended for Young

FDA has amended the emergency use authorizations of the updated (bivalent) Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccines for use in children as young as six months.

An [FDA release](https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/coronavirus-covid-19-update-fda-authorizes-updated-bivalent-covid-19-vaccines-children-down-6-months?ref=fdaweb.com) says that the Moderna bivalent vaccine is now authorized for use in children aged six months through five years as a single booster dose that can be administered at least two months after completion of primary vaccination with the monovalent Moderna Covid-19 vaccine.

The agency says that the Pfizer-BioNTech bivalent vaccine is now authorized for use in children aged six months through four years as the third dose of the three-dose primary series with the monovalent Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine. The bivalent vaccine is also authorized for administration in individuals five years of age and older as a single booster dose at least two months after completing either primary vaccination with any Covid-19 vaccine.
