More Quality Issues at Lilly Plant: Reuters

FDA investigators have found additional quality issues at the Lilly Branchburg, NJ, drug manufacturing facility, according to a Reuters exclusive story based on an FDA-483 obtained through a Freedom of Information request. The report says the new FDA-483 comes three years after the agency began documenting quality control issues at the Branchburg facility.

After spending 12 days at the plant in July, Reuters says, the investigators found that Lilly personnel did not adequately track potentially contaminated drug batches that were supposed to be inspected by the company’s quality control unit.

Lilly, FDA, and the Department of Justice did not comment to Reuters for its report.
