# New Electronic Common Technical Document Version

*Federal Register* notice: FDA is announcing its support for Electronic Common Technical Document (eCTD) Version 4.0 (v4.0)-based electronic submissions for CDER/CBER regulated products. The version of eCTD currently supported by the agency is specified in the FDA Data Standards Catalog ([https://www.fda.gov/regulatory-information/search-fda-guidance-documents/data-standards-catalog](https://www.fda.gov/regulatory-information/search-fda-guidance-documents/data-standards-catalog?ref=fdaweb.com)). FDA says it will support both eCTDv3.2.2 and eCTDv4.0 submissions before eventually only supporting eCTDv4.0 submissions, adding that an advance notice will be published before that happens.
