No Major Changes at FDA: Pines

Former FDAer Wayne Pines, now Apco president of healthcare, says he expects that under President Donald Trump FDA will be similar in nature to the agency it is today, but with new leadership. In a brief video, Pines outlines three impacts he believes the election results will have on FDA:

the agency will remain mission-driven because everyone wants safe food and safe and effective drugs and medical devices;
appointment of a new commissioner and possibly also a change in other senior officials; and
a continuing emphasis on expediting approval of new drugs and medical devices, including new generic drugs, an emphasis that he says would have continued no matter who won the election.
