# Novel Laboratories FDA-483 Out

FDA has released the form FDA-483 issued following a 4/13-4/17 inspection at the Novel Laboratories (Lupin) drug manufacturing facility in Somerset, NJ. The three specific inspection observations [were](https://www.fda.gov/media/193861/download?ref=fdaweb.com):

- failure to extend investigations of an unexplained discrepancy and a failure of a batch or any of its components to meet any of its specifications to other batches of the same drug product;
- failure to base the number of containers to be sampled and amount of material taken from each container on appropriate criteria; and
- failure to fully follow the responsibilities and procedures applicable to the quality control unit.
