Nurami Dura Mater Repair Graft Cleared

FDA has cleared a Nurami Medical 510(k) for its electrospun nanofiber-based product, ArtiFascia Dura Substitute, a resorbable dura mater repair graft. The company says neurosurgeries require replacing the dura mater, which protects the brain and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). ArtiFascia combines two layers of electrospun nanofibers, it says, that form biomimetic scaffolds and a non-porous barrier layer. The scaffolds are engineered to promote dural tissue regeneration and rapid healing, and the barrier layer is intended to prevent CSF leakage from suture holes and bacterial penetration.
