OCP Met or Exceeded 2020 Goals: Report

The FDA Office of Clinical Pharmacology (OCP) met or exceeded its 2020 organizational, scientific, and regulatory goals, according to the OCP annual report, while also being very involved in FDA’s pandemic response. OCP expanded its policy fellowship program and published six new guidances, with a major focus on the design, conduct, and interpretation of studies to assess the potential for drug-drug interactions, it says.

The report says that OCP’s Model-Informed Drug Development program brought together thought leaders from across the agency to facilitate drug development through the use of novel approaches such as quantitative systems pharmacology, physiologically based pharmacokinetic analysis, and innovative population pharmacokinetic tools.
