# ODAC Nixes Checkpoint Inhibitors in Gastric Cancers

The FDA Oncology Drugs Advisory Committee voted 2-10-1 against recommending the use of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in first-line advanced gastric cancer with PD-L1 (programmed death ligand 1) protein expression less than 1\. An agency briefing document distributed before the meeting asked the committee to discuss whether the indication for using ICIs in combination with chemotherapy should require patient selection based on PD-L1 expression levels.
