OGD Seeing Record Year with ANDA Approvals

With two months to go this fiscal year, CDER’s Office of Generic Drugs (OGD) is on track to eclipse last year’s record approval (651 ANDAs) for generic drugs. Already through July, OGD has approved 633 ANDAs, according to an agency tally. OGD refuse-to-receive actions have been cut in half from last year’s 246 such actions, and ANDA complete response letters (CRLs) are about 15% fewer than in 2016. There have been 1,292 CRLs issued so far this year, compared to 1,725 CRLs in FY 2016.
