OPQ Faced Challenges in 2017: Report

The FDA Office of Pharmaceutical Quality (OPQ) 2017 annual report outlines challenges faced by the organization last year and the key quality initiatives it undertook. OPQ director Michael Kopcha says the challenges included new commitments in conjunction with reauthorization of human drug user fee programs and the devastation caused by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria.

The quality initiatives listed in the report with their objectives and 2017 accomplishments were an emerging technology team, concept of operations for facility evaluations and inspections, new inspection protocols project, knowledge-aided assessment and structured application, and enhanced core work functions.
