*Federal Register* notice: FDA has announced a 9/17 Pediatric Advisory Committee to discuss pediatric-focused safety reviews, as mandated by the Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act and the Pediatric Research Equity Act of 2003\. Panel members are scheduled to review Cook Medical’s Flourish, a pediatric esophageal atresia device that uses earth magnets that are inserted in the upper and lower ends of the infant’s esophagus. The magnets are intended to gradually stretch both ends of the esophagus to allow tissue to start to connect to form an intact esophagus.
