# Panel to Review Opioid NDA with Abuse-deterrent Properties

*Federal Register* notice: FDA has announced a 6/26 joint Anesthetic and Analgesic Drug Products Advisory Committee and Drug Safety and Risk Management Advisory Committee meeting. Panel members are scheduled to review a Pain Therapeutics NDA for an NDA for oxycodone extended-release capsules, indicated for managing pain severe enough to require daily, around-the-clock, long-term opioid treatment and for which alternative treatment options are inadequate. The product is intended to have abuse-deterrence based on its physicochemical properties. The committees will also be asked to discuss whether the data submitted are sufficient to support labeling of the product with the properties expected to deter abuse.
