Panel to Vote on 2 Hypertension Devices

Federal Register notice: FDA has announced a meeting of the Medical Devices Advisory Committee’s Circulatory System Devices Panel on 8/22/23. On 8/22, members will discuss and vote on a ReCor PMA for its Paradise Ultrasound Renal Denervation System, indicated for reducing blood pressure in adult patients with uncontrolled hypertension. The device is intended for those who may be inadequately responsive to, or who are intolerant to, antihypertensive medications. On 8/23, the panel will discuss and vote on a Medtronic PMA for the Symplicity Spyral Renal Denervation System, indicated for reducing blood pressure in patients with uncontrolled hypertension despite the use of antihypertensive medications or in patients in whom blood pressure lowering therapy is poorly tolerated.
