Patel Debarment Order for 1 Year

Federal Register notice: FDA is denying a request for a hearing submitted by Vithal K. Patel and issuing an order debarring him for one year from providing services in any capacity related to an approved or pending drug product application. FDA bases this order on a finding that Patel was convicted of conspiracy to commit a felony under federal law. On 8/7, Patel pled guilty to a felony count of conspiracy to distribute misbranded and adulterated drugs. The government contended that he violated FDA’s regulations regarding good manufacturing practice for drugs by, among other things, manipulating and falsifying testing data and information.
