FDA has released the transcript of a 5/6 virtual workshop on “Patient Engagement & Regenerative Medicine: A CBER Workshop for Patient Advocates.” The [workshop](https://www.fda.gov/media/150446/download?ref=fdaweb.com) was hosted by CBER’s Office of Tissues and Advanced Therapies (OTAT).

During the session, OTAT deputy director **Rachael Anatol** said cell and gene therapy-related research and development is growing in the U.S. at a fast rate, with numerous types of products advancing in clinical development.

The workshop included a panel of patients, patient advocates, and representatives from patient organizations discussing their experiences working with OTAT; a panel with patient engagement leaders from across FDA; and a question-and-answer session.
