Pfizer and Ionis Pharmaceuticals are discontinuing the Pfizer-led clinical development program for vupanorsen, an investigational antisense therapy that was being evaluated for potential indications in cardiovascular risk reduction and severe hypertriglyceridemia. An [announcement](https://www.pfizer.com/news/press-release/press-release-detail/pfizer-and-ionis-announce-discontinuation-vupanorsen?ref=fdaweb.com) says Pfizer decided after a thorough review of data from a global Phase 2b study of vupanorsen in statin-treated patients with dyslipidemia. Pfizer says it is returning the development rights to vupanorsen to Ionis.
