Pfizer Recalling Lots of Accuretic, Others

FDA says Pfizer is recalling six lots of Accuretic (quinapril HCl/hydrochlorothiazide) tablets, one lot of quinapril and hydrochlorothiazide tablets distributed as an authorized generic by Greenstone, and four lots of quinapril HCl/hydrochlorothiazide tablets also distributed by Greenstone. The recalls are due to the presence of a nitrosamine, N-nitroso-quinapril, above the acceptable daily level, according to an agency statement.

The products are indicated for treating hypertension.

The company says it is not aware of reports of adverse events that have been assessed to be related to the recall.
