Pharmadax Generic Seroquel XR Approved

FDA has approved a Pharmadax ANDA for a generic copy of Seroquel XR (quetiapine fumarate) extended release tablets, 50 mg, 150 mg, 200 mg, 300 mg and 400 mg. Pharmadax has launched the product with their marketing partner TruPharma LLC.

Seroquel XR is a once-daily tablet indicated for treating schizophrenia; acute depressive episodes in bipolar disorder; acute manic or mixed episodes in bipolar disorder alone or with lithium or divalproex; and major depressive disorder as adjunctive therapy to antidepressants. According to IMS Health data, U.S. annual sales of branded and generic quetiapine fumarate equivalents for the strengths to be marketed by TruPharma are about $1.3 billion.
