Pharmakon Pharma Recalls Compounded Products

Pharmakon Pharmaceuticals has recalled all lots of its aseptically compounded sterile products due to FDA concerns over a lack of sterility assurance and other quality issues. “Administration of a sterile drug product intended to be sterile that is compromised may result in serious and potentially life-threatening infections or death,” the company says. To date, Pharmakon says it has not received any injury reports. The products are used for a variety of indications and are packaged in bags, syringes and cad cassettes, and they were distributed nationwide to hospitals between 3/4 and 4/15.
