Philips BrightView CT System Recalled

Philips North America has recalled (Class 1) its BrightView computed tomography gamma camera system because of the risk of the detector unexpectedly falling due to a component failure. “If the detector is positioned below center of the gantry, there is a potential for abrasion, contusion, laceration, and/or fracture to the patient's lower limbs, as well as an interruption to normal system operation,” a recall notice says. “If the detector is positioned above center of the gantry, there may be an interruption to normal system operation.”
