Philips Respironics Recalls Trilogy Evo Ventilators

Philips Respironics has recalled (Class 1) its Trilogy Evo ventilator and all software versions, except 1.05.06.00, due to the device’s potential for sudden loss of ventilation due to “battery depleted” or “loss of power” alarms while the unit has sufficient power. A recall notice says a letter was sent to consignees last month that provided instructions to continue using the devices safely. “Devices that alarm are to be immediately plugged into a power source if a loss of power alarm occurs,” the notice says. “If no source of power is available, remove and replace the detachable battery.”
