Philips Respironics Recalls V60 Ventilators

Philips Respironics is recalling (Class 1) its V60 Ventilators and V60 Plus Ventilators because the devices contain power management printed circuit board assemblies that do not meet ventilator standards. “The use of the affected ventilators may cause serious adverse health consequences, including power failure, loss of ventilator function, and death,” a recall notice says, adding that no reports of injuries or death have been received to date.

The devices are used in hospitals to provide breathing assistance to pediatric and adult patients, according to the notice. They are intended to mechanically control or assist patient breathing by delivering a predetermined percentage of oxygen.
