Phillips Recalling All Topical Products

Phillips Company is recalling all lots of its Tetrastem, Diabecline, Tetracycline-ABC, VenomX, Acneed, StaphWash, StringMed, NoPain, and LidoMed topical products to the retail level. In a statement published by FDA, the company says the recall follows an FDA inspection that found significant manufacturing practices calling into question the products’ safety, identity, strength, quality, and purity.

The statement says the products were manufactured in the last three years. “Manufacturing practices that are not in adequate control represent the possibility of risk being introduced into the manufacturing process in decreased quality and consistency of the product,” the notice says. “These may have an impact on the safety and efficacy of the product, posing a risk to patients. To date, no adverse events have been reported.”
