Praise for ICH Addendum

Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America says a proposed revision to an International Council for Harmonization addendum on Clinical Investigation of Medicinal Products in the Pediatric Population “is successful in addressing the many advances in pediatric drug development” since the ICH document was first promulgated. The comment letter says the association believes that the addendum addresses many of the current challenges that sponsors face. It notes that there are instances in the addendum where the word “must” is used, and strongly recommends that the addendum be revised to be consistent with Good Guidance Practice regulations and use the terms “should” or “could” where appropriate. The letter also provides specific comments.
