Sens. **Markwayne Mullin** (R-OK) and **Cory Booker** (D-NJ) have introduced the Prescription Information Modernization Act that would enable FDA to implement a rule that allows drug manufacturers to transmit prescribing information electronically to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure that healthcare professionals have access to the latest drug information. A [statement](https://www.mullin.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/booker-mullin-introduce-bipartisan-prescription-information-modernization-act/?ref=fdaweb.com) from Mullin says that under current regulations, this information is required to be printed, which leads to excessive paper use and the distribution of outdated materials.
