# Princeton BioMeditech OTC Covid Test Authorized

FDA has issued Princeton BioMeditech an emergency use authorization for its Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test for Home Use, an over-the-counter Covid-19 antigen diagnostic test that produces results in 15 minutes. “The test can be used for serial testing for people who have symptoms within the first 5 days of symptoms or for people who do not have symptoms,” FDA says. The authorization was based on validation data obtained through the National Institutes of Health Independent Test Assessment Program, it says. The test is intended for use in those aged 14 years or older with a self-collected nasal swab sample, and in those aged two years or older when an adult collects the nasal swab sample.
