Public Meeting on Opioid Medication Use

FDA is announcing a 9/9 meeting with the Reagan-Udall Foundation for the FDA to hear public comments on perspectives involving opioid medication use for managing pain and addiction. The meeting will also feature a panel discussion with federal partners to discuss efforts to improve the pain management and address addiction issues.

Commenters are asked to share their interest in the following topics:

Scientific evidence regarding conditions of use, safety concerns, or benefit-risk assessment (including consideration of the public health effects) of opioid medications
Input on FDA’s regulation of opioid medications
Additional actions that could be considered to address the public health effects of opioid medications
