Quelicin Not Withdrawn Due to Safety/Efficacy

Federal Register notice: FDA has determined that Hospira’s Quelicin Preservative Free (succinylcholine chloride) injection, 20mg/mL, 50mg/mL and 100mg/mL, was not withdrawn due to safety or effectiveness reasons. The determination will allow FDA to approve ANDAs that reference the product if all other legal and regulatory requirements are met. The drug is indicated as an adjunct to general anesthesia, to facilitate tracheal intubation, and to provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgery or mechanical ventilation.
