# Regen-Cov EUA Expanded to Preventing Covid

FDA has revised Regeneron’s [emergency use authorization (EUA) for Regen-Cov (casirivimab and imdevimab](https://www.fda.gov/media/145610/download?ref=fdaweb.com) expanding its emergency use as post-exposure prophylaxis (prevention) of Covid-19 in adults and pediatric individuals (12 years of age and older weighing at least 40 kg) who are at high risk for progression to severe disease, including hospitalization or death. Previously, the therapy was authorized for treating mild-to-moderate Covid-19 in adults and pediatric patients.

  
The EUA expansion is based on data from a Phase 3 trial that showed an 81% reduction in confirmed symptomatic Covid cases was observed with Regen-Cov compared to placebo at day 29, an [FDA release](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-authorizes-regen-cov-monoclonal-antibody-therapy-post-exposure-prophylaxis-prevention-covid-19?ref=fdaweb.com) says. The most common side effects were injection site reactions.
