# Researchers Develop MRI-Friendly Protein Micelle

New York University Tandon School of Engineering researchers say they have engineered nanoscale protein micelles capable of both delivering chemotherapeutic drugs and of being tracked by MRI imaging. A university [news release](https://www.eurekalert.org/pub%5Freleases/2019-03/ntso-vbc032019.php?ref=fdaweb.com) says that as a “theranostic,” the innovation combines diagnostic capability and drug delivery, allow researchers to administer therapy while also non-invasively monitoring the therapeutic progress and reducing the need for surgical intervention.
