# RFK Jr. Says Some FDA Departments Have to Go

President-elect **Donald Trump**’s top health advisor **Robert F. Kennedy Jr.** is continuing his criticism of FDA and officials working there, going as far as saying that there a some “departments” and “some categories of workers” that have to go because they are not doing their job. The former presidential candidate dropped out of the race late in the campaign and signaled his Trump support and was immediately guaranteed a top health advisor role in the administration if Trump won.

With the dust from the election barely settled, RFK Jr. appeared on [MSNBC 11/6](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/watch/rfk-jr-talks-health-care-agenda-following-trump-win-223720005709&ved=2ahUKEwjx9pzN1siJAxUFlIkEHZsVMz4QiLELKAB6BAgOEAE&usg=AOvVaw363WALBLGRNzGQepyViWUy) and solidified his remarks that put FDA on notice during the campaign. In a [post late last month](https://x.com/RobertKennedyJr/status/1849925311586238737?ref=fdaweb.com) on X (formerly Twitter), he had this to say: “FDA’s war on public health is about to end. This includes its aggressive suppression of psychedelics, peptides, stem cells, raw milk, hyperbaric therapies, chelating compounds, ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, vitamins, clean foods, sunshine, exercise, nutraceuticals and anything else that advances human health and can't be patented by Pharma. If you work for the FDA and are part of this corrupt system, I have two messages for you: **1.** Preserve your records, and **2.** Pack your bags.

In his undefined role in the new administration, RFK Jr. is promising to root out the “corruption” at FDA and other health agencies. “I can get the corruption out of the agencies,” he told MSNBC. “That’s what I’ve been doing for 40 years. I've sued all those agencies. I have a PhD in corporate corruption, and that's what I do. And once they’re not corrupt, and once Americans are getting good science and are allowed to make their own choices, they're going to get a lot of healthier.”

Asked if clearing out corruption at FDA would mean getting rid of the top-level federal workers there, RFK said “yes” in some situations. For example, he said there are nutrition departments at the agency that are “not protecting our kids. Why do we have Fruit Loops in this country that have 18 or 19 ingredients, and then you go to Canada and it’s got two or three (ingredients).” Asked whether he would seek to eliminate any health agencies altogether, he said that “as long as it requires congressional approval, I wouldn't be doing that.”

Regarding his past criticisms of vaccines, RFK Jr. was asked if there are any specific vaccines that he would like to see off the market. “I’m not going to take away anybody’s vaccines,” he said, adding that he has “never been anti-vaccine. If vaccines are working for somebody, I’m not going to take them away. People ought to have a choice, and that choice ought to be informed by the best information. So, I'm going to make sure scientific safety studies and efficacy are out there, and people can make individual assessments about whether that product is going to be good for them.”

Asked about his past criticisms of the Covid-19 vaccines and whether if he had control of FDA back then would he have sought to block their authorization, RFK Jr. said he would not have “directly” blocked the pandemic vaccines. “What I was saying at that time is that the vaccines are not going to prevent transmission, which they were telling the public that they would,” he told MSNBC. “I knew in May of 2020 that the vaccines were not going to protect against transmission because I was actually reading the monkey studies… I would have made sure that we had the best science, and there was no effort to do that at that time.”

If another pandemic were to hit, RFK Jr. was asked whether the American public should have confidence that he would allow a vaccine to be made available. “They should not have confidence” in the people who were managing the previous pandemic, he said. “We had the worst record of any country in the world. So, we had 16% of the Covid deaths in the United States of America, and we only had 4.2% of the globe’s population. So whatever we were doing in this country was the worst of every country in the world.”
