RFK Jr. to Recommend Trump Health Agency Heads?
Appearing at a Wisconsin live program led by Tucker Carlson, former presidential candidate and now Trump supporter and transition team member Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., said he has been asked by Trump to recommend people to head FDA, the Centers for Disease Control, and the National Institutes of Health, Mediaite reports. “Can you imagine if you’re at FDA or NIH and Bobby Kennedy all of a sudden,” Carlson responded. “They must be dying. They must be dying.”
Kennedy indicated he would recommend people to run the agencies like Dr. Casey Means and her brother Calley Means. Mediaite says Casey Means is a trained physician and Calley Means is an ex-lobbyist for the drug and food industries. Both are outspoken critics of “Big Pharma” and promote lifestyle changes as a means of fighting chronic disease, the news report says.
Laughing at that prospect, Carlson said, “You think they’re gonna … I mean, they have nightmares about that.” “Yeah, they should,” said Kennedy. “Yeah, and they should.”
According to Kennedy, Trump has asked him specifically to “help unravel the capture of the agencies by corrupt influences. In other words, to drain the swamp.”
He also praised Trump for his skepticism during the Covid-19 pandemic. “President Trump has many extraordinary gifts,” he said, “and one of them is that he has very, very good instincts. And when he came out the first time, you remember, he was very against the lockdowns, publicly. He was for hydroxychloroquine. He was for alternative medicines. He was against the mass. But he was surrounded by bureaucrats and knowledgeable experts who ultimately pushed back on these assumptions and got us into some policies that, I think, were really bad for our country. He’s not going to do that again. So I think that, and he’s asked me to do that, and he’s asked me to help him end the childhood disease, chronic disease epidemic and make Americans healthy again.”
Asked by Carlson how he would work toward those goals, Kennedy reportedly replied, “That’s unclear because there’s no … You know, at this point, like I said, I’m on the transition committee and there is no … I don’t have a post for myself that’s picked out. I know that I’m going to be deeply involved in helping to choose the people who can run FDA and NIH and CDC in a way that restores public health rather than….”
