RXQ Compounding Recalls Sterile Drug Products

RXQ Compounding has recalled all sterile human and animal products within expiry due to a lack of sterility process assurance associated with sterile product manufacturing. A recall notice says that RXQ is voluntarily ceasing all sterile production at its current location while it transitions to the company’s new outsourcing facility. “Administration of a non-sterile product that is intended to be sterile by subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous or ocular routes of administration may result in serious injury or death,” the notice says. All lots of unexpired sterile drug products were produced at its Athens, OH manufacturing location.
