FDA has issued a [safety update](https://www.fda.gov/MedicalDevices/Safety/AlertsandNotices/ucm610394.htm?ref=fdaweb.com) on LivaNova’s Stӧckert 3T Heater-Cooler System (3T) to help prevent the spread of infection related to the use of the devices. This update amplifies [livanova’s 4/20 medical device correction](http://www.livanova.sorin.com/products/cardiac-surgery/perfusion/hlm/3t?ref=fdaweb.com) announcing the availability of “deep cleaning” services of certain 3Ts in the U.S. that are suspected of contamination or contain visible biofilm. The deep cleaning is intended to help mitigate cardiac surgery *Mycobacterium* infection risks the company says.
