Sagent Pharma Recalls Levetiracetam Over Sterility Concerns

Sagent Pharmaceuticals has recalled four lots of levetiracetam injection due to container closure integrity concerns. “Intravenous administration of a product intended to be sterile that is not sterile could result in serious systemic infections which may be life threatening,” a recall notice says. To date, Sagent says it has not received reports of any product complaints or adverse events associated with the issue. Levetiracetam is used for treating certain types of seizures.
